Hi! I'm Merissa—the maker, dreamer, late-night printer operator, and chaos gremlin behind 3D Prints Next Door in Bartlett, Illinois.

It all started with one little girl and one very big imagination.

My 6-year-old daughter, who is autistic, became completely fascinated with 3D printing because, in her eyes, anything could come to life. Every day she'd ask, "Can you print this?" Whether it was tiny food, a miniature animal, or something she dreamed up herself, she truly believed a 3D printer could create anything.

Watching the excitement on her face reminded me that creativity doesn't have limits.

So we bought our very first 3D printer.

What started as a way to bring my daughter's imagination to life with one printer quickly grew into something much bigger. One printer turned into two. Two turned into seven. Before I knew it, our home had become a workshop, and a family hobby had grown into 3D Prints Next Door.

Today, every design is created, printed, assembled, photographed, packed, and shipped right here from our home studio.

But this business isn't just about me.

It's about building a life I love with my three amazing kids, showing them that creativity, hard work, and believing in yourself can turn a simple idea into something real. Every late night, every new design, and every order that comes through our shop is another step toward building something together as a family.

And of course, no studio would be complete without the rest of the crew...

🐾 Our dachshunds proudly serve as Chief Quality Inspectors, always nearby supervising prints, inspecting packages, or negotiating for treats.

🐈 Morticia, our mischievous Sphynx cat, believes every product belongs to her first and keeps a close eye on the printers from her favorite warm spot.
